MTS Supports Priority TM at Trekfest 2013

    Date: 14th July 2013

Mobile Traffic Solutions (MTS) were proud to sponsor Priority Traffic Management when their team “The Utilities Peoples Front” took on the challenge at Trekfest which took place on 6th July in the Peak District National Park.

The annual event which has a 12 hour time limit; is for teams and individuals to test themselves over 27 miles of the most challenging terrain this country has to offer.

Despite red hot temperatures and blistering feet, Duncan Crome, Maile Beere, Kevin Hatt, Gemma Green, James Hatt and Rob Thorpe joined forces to be the first full team to complete the challenge with a finishing time of 11 hours and 10 minutes (50 minutes to spare of the 12 hour time limit).

This years’ event saw 244 registered starters; only 177 finished and out of those only 111 finished inside the time limit.

Everyone who entered was raising money for their own individual charities whilst Priority TM were trekking to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and as a team have managed to raise £4,200.00 so far for the charity by completing this challenge.

The weather was not exactly ideal for trekking 27 miles over rough terrain; it was blisteringly hot with no real breeze to cool you down.  The trek was tough and the pace to get under the 12 hour limit was brutal just like the terrain. But with a combination of fitness, perseverance and teamwork “The Utilities Peoples Front” finished as the first full team as none of our members dropped out of the event.

Mobile Traffic Solutions were very pleased to be able to support Priority TM and congratulate the team in their fantastic achievement to raise a fantastic amount of money for such a wonderful cause.

Well done “The Utilities Peoples Front”
